Overview of our Fertility Programs

Our program offers a complete method which incorporates the most recent research in integrative naturopathic medicine and acupuncture, along with a mind-body approach to reduce stress.  You will be provided with detailed information about your specific individual diagnosis, and given a customized therapy program that will target the imbalances in your body.  You will be helped on your journey towards conception with information, education and above all, the support that you need.

Dr Fiona has completed training with Dr Randine Lewis (Author of The Infertility Cure) in the Fertile Soul Method and includes this method along with her own techniques.  This results in a unique form of therapy based on traditional chinese medicine and acupuncture melded with modern science.  She is one of only 30 advanced practitioners worldwide in Dr Lewis's group which requires ongoing continuing education in this field.

You may have read many things on your journey towards conception that have put a lot of pressure on your body and mind, and you likely feel that you are running out of time.  You may have been told that your follicles are of poor quality or that your FSH is too high.   You may have tried everything from Clomid, to ART procedures and likely have spent hours researching every detail about your fertility online. If you are seeking treatment through conventional means, fertility treatments can often be very stressful including daily early morning visits for cycle monitoring, frequent injections and many emotional stresses that go along with the ups and downs of the process.  Regular acupuncture will provide you with the time and space to feel completely relaxed while physically enhancing blood flow to your pelvic organs and developing follicles as you go through or prepare for your IVF or IUI cycles.  For those who have chosen to use natural methods of conception, this program will substantially improve follicle health, enhance implantation, and restore hormonal and emotional balance.

The fertility process can drain you completely and the stress can impact your body, relationships, and life in ways that are profound, not only for your fertility, but for your overall wellbeing.  We know that this whole process is something you never asked for, or even imagined you'd be going through and we have seen that our methods can not only help you reclaim fertility, but make the whole process easier on your body.

Your follicles go through a more than a 90 day maturation process in the ovary, so it can take at the very least this long to complete the program.  During this time, you will be advised on fertility enhancing diets and nutrition, environment/lifestyle, supplements and specific therapies to improve blood flow to the follicles and restore balance to your hormonal levels.   If you have a thyroid condition, endometriosis, fibroids, cysts, PCOS, tubal concerns, irregular cycles, specific hormonal imbalances, low ovarian reserve, or unexplained infertility, your unique needs and concerns will be identified and treated according to the most recent research in the field.

The impact of stress can reduce blood flow to the ovaries and pelvic organs (your body perceives stress as a sign that it must shunt energy into survival mechanisms, and reproduction is not a priority for the body in stressful times).  As part of your treatment, you will learn effective techniques to help reduce the impact of stresses and improve function of your adrenal glands.
