Your First Visit

First Visit At Naturopathic Clinic in Toronto gives you time. Your first visit at the clinic is much longer than the typical type of visit you would have at a medical doctor.  It will be approximately one and a half hours long, which will allow us to fully understand your case and provide the best treatment possible.  Please bring with you a list of the vitamins and medications you are currently taking.  If you wish, you may also bring along any medical test results you wish to discuss.

During the first visit, you will be able to fully discuss any health concerns you wish to work on, as well as your medical history, family medical history and nutritional concerns.  An individual naturopathic assessment will be made and the first stage of the treatment plan will be started on this visit.  For some patients, further laboratory testing may also be recommended to provide more insight into your condition.

Testing included in your first naturopathic visit

Tests may vary slightly depending on your individual health concerns.

  • Urinalysis - pH, glucose, leukocytes, protein, specific gravity, ketones, urobilinogen, bilirubin, nitrite, blood
  • Urine adrenal function test
  • Urine hormone testing if appropriate - FSH, hCG, LH
  • Urine heavy metal screening if appropriate
  • Blood pressure
  • Body fat calculations
  • Basic physical exam
  • Fetal doppler for Dr Fiona's pregnancy health program

Other tests which may be conducted in house on the first visit

These tests will give you immediate results, and are at the following additional costs:

  • Pollenguard skin prick allergy testing $40
  • Biocard celiac instant test $50

We also offer a full range of more detailed diagnostic tests for which we will send samples of either saliva, urine or blood to an external lab for analysis.

Clinic visits are by appointment only, as we do not usually accept walk in patients. Please call our office at (416) 730-8218 or arrange by our contact us section for your appointment. You soon will receive a phone call or email in return by one of our Naturopathic Doctors who will provide more information to you before booking your appointment.

Our clinic offers weekday, evening and Saturday appointments to accommodate your schedule.  We look forward to hearing from you!
